News£455K Fleet Investment
Wednesday, January 6, 2010 North Lincolnshire haulier John Reid Trucking has taken delivery of another brand new 26 tonne truck in the latest stage of a £455,000 fleet investment programme. The Iveco Stralis arrived at John Reid Trucking’s Brigg distribution and warehousing depot sporting the company’s new blue and red corporate identity. It is the third of seven vehicles to be acquired as part of the programme with more due for delivery early this year. John Reid Trucking remains committed to investment despite the recession, according to managing director John Reid. He said, “Although volumes through the ports may have fallen, our core business is nationwide distribution for UK manufacturers. A key sector for us is packaging which has remained healthy throughout the year.” “The acquisition is part of our programme of keeping modern vehicles in our 35-strong fleet. It’s an investment commitment that helps to ensure John Reid Trucking provides a reliable service.” The John Reid Trucking fleet ranges in size from transit vans for same day delivery and 3.5, 10 and 16 tonne payload curtain-sided rigid vehicles up to 44 tonne articulated units. This latest 16 tonne payload curtain sider, like many vehicles in the fleet, has a tail lift facility to support customers without fork lifts. It was acquired from North East Truck & Van, which has a depot in Immingham. “With our fleet we can provide a complete transport service for the nationwide delivery and collection of single pallets and items through to multiple pallets of virtually any packaged product of varying weight and size, as well as extensive warehousing and handling services,” said operations director Oliver Reid.
